The Client

The Harvard Depository is Harvard University Library’s archival media storage and retrieval facility.  The climate-controlled depository is a critical resource for students, faculty, staff and researchers across the University.   The off-campus facility provides a strictly regulated media preservation environment, precise inventory-tracking controls, efficient online retrieval ordering, and dependable overnight delivery of materials requested from storage.

The Project

SullyMac was contracted by T. G. Gallagher to provide a service upgrade, increasing Harvard University Book Depository's mechanical service from 1,200 Amps to 2,000 Amps. SullyMac's role was that of the Electrical Contractor and General Contractor, under our scope was National Grid, MacKay Construction for all excavation, MassBay for medium voltage install, and UPG for testing.

The Execution

The SullyMac team provided a new 15kV feeder and transformer from the existing 15kV Loop, and increased service from 1,200 Amps to 2,000 Amps.  We installed a new 2,000 Amp service switch, new 2,000 Amp ATS and installed feed for all new Chillers, Pumps, and Condensate Units.
